This line of 3D-printed jewellery was realised for conceptual brand “UMMI” (Japanese for sea). The ambition was to find an effective way to combine the rather contradicting concepts of rapid prototyping and precious jewellery.
Thereby the question whether expensive jewellery has to be made of precious material is evoked. Ideally, UMMI would invest its profit in supporting projects working on beach and ocean clean up. Using recycled filament, the shapes are recalling sea materials and trash encountered on beaches.
